Billie VP 5 minutes

I will just give a brief talk about how pleased I am, about the shelter, being as clean as it is, and about Marisol, being such a great volunteer and even her husband sometimes....but I also want to add, that there are some kittens that need to be put down, sooner then they are.....that if not, they are going to infect the healthy cats, which we have plenty of, and the main thing, is when they have the infected eyes, it is painful, (there is a lot of pressure in their eyes) and they shouldn't have to go thru that......and endure the pain, they don't eat, and in general don't feel good (when I worked at the Animal control, as soon as a sick kitty came in, we would put it down, even when it wasn't EU day......only to keep the infection down, because we will also get in plenty of healthy kittens......personally, I can't see wasting our antibiotics, on a sick animal, that isn't going to get better, anyway. I know, that sounds hard and because, but after doing it for so many years, I know there isn't really any hope for them.....I do have a heart, and a soft spot for animals, but don't want or like to see them suffer, and those kittens suffer.

  1. I think a written report (brought to the board meeting) made by Edgar as shelter manager about how the shelter is doing and about Dr. Juan goals. This report will give us the knowledge to decide if we should continue and renew Dr. Juan's contract that is up in May.
  2. I would like to explain my idea of neutering and spaying ALL adoptable dogs ASAP and NEVER after someone picks them out and wants to take them home.
  3. I also want to talk about the importance of getting the shelter organized, with a procedure for some issues. My point is that we have to do this now that we have Edgar in charge.

Discuss what items she needs to get things organized the accounts in order. Will explain what she wants us to do if we get donations. Does everyone have a factura card? If not we will get you one. If you buy anything for the shelter get a factura. Discuss how much money we have in the states and in Mazatlan.

Discuss the need for Edgar to not go to the schools due to his being needed in the shelter. When Edgar isn't at the shelter the shelter does not run like it should.

I just want to say I will do the forum postings when Billie is not here and Billie will do the forum postings when I am not in town. Linda will always need to do Spanish minutes to stay with our by laws. We don't have a summer bi-lingual person yet for fundraisers, please continue to put the word out.
