Some suggestions about points to make:

I think Linda should speak about the fact that the board members are mostly employed Mexicans, who live and work here full time. As such their time and availabilty is limited. They will provide guidance, direction, and dispute resolution, but cannot be involved on a day to day basis. They (we) welcome input and volunteers to do specific tasks, such as:

  • Sell raffle tickets
  • Organize fun fund raisers
  • Visit schools to help educate children

Let's pass out a clipboard, and ask people to write down their names, contact info, and how they would be willing to help. Amigos de los Animales will of course cover all expenses if someone wants to organize a fund raiser for us.

Nadine adds: Board needs to know details of fund raisers and cost Before, we cover a fund raiser at OUR cost. Board must agree this fund raiser is good for the Amigos and what people we are trying to target. This way we do not complete with other fund raisers. Board will give the person or persons feed back on who they feel the target people are? Meaning snow birds or locals or both? No more surprise fund raisers that the board doesn't understand and give feed back on.

Alma, could you please talk about the PR you are doing on the TV, radio, and newspapers. Please explain that we believe your work is responsible for the increased shelter traffic and increased donations.
