Amigos de Los Animales Board Meeting May 4, 2005 Attending: Jo Ann Scott, Cindi Van Buskirk, Sally Ross, Rafael Aguilar, Nadine Laxen, Luisa Wiebe and guest Judy Algara.

  2. Approval of April 9,2005 Board meeting minutes
  3. President’s Report: Jo Ann Scott
    1. Complimented Nadine Laxen on all her help at the shelter the past several weeks.
    2. Read an email from a member in Oklahoma commenting on the great improvements at the shelter.
  4. Treasurer’s Report: Sally Ross
    1. See attached financial report
    2. Organization could be out of money By September
    3. Motion by Sally that the financial report be put in the secretary’s minutes. Cindi 2nd. Motion approved.
  5. North American Liaison Report: Nadine Laxen
    1. Donation box was put in office and sign made that leashes and collars are given with a donation and adoption, while they last
    2. Need some flyers in Spanish made up to educate owners that adopt puppies and kittens.
    3. Daniel needs to follow up with new contract with crematorium
    4. Cages will be ordered and bought by Rafael for puppies and more for cats. Price $3000 pesos Nadine 1st, Sally 2nd, Approved
    5. $2000 pesos for trash fine. Nadine 1st, Rafael 2nd, Approved

  7. The following motions were brought forth:
    1. Fees for the adoption center as follows:
      1. $50 pesos for cats, kittens
      2. $100 pesos for dogs, puppies includes leash or collar Nadine 1st, Sally 2nd, Approved
      3. Fees to pickup dogs $100 pesos, with Daniel having the flexibility to reduce for the economically stressed Sally 1st,Rafael 2nd, Approved
    2. Adopt recommendation rules for the adoption center Sally 1st, Rafael 2nd, Approved
    3. Hire Katrina part time with a salary of $200 pesos per week starting May 15, 2005 Nadine 1st, Sally 2nd, Approved
  8. Old Business
    1. Rafael to get information on insulation for roof
    2. Judy will try to get application for tax status
  9. New Business
    1. Bring to general meeting on May 11, 2005
