Amigos de los Animales Board Meeting El Cid Country Club, February 8th, 2006
Attendance: Jo Ann Scott, Nadine & Henry Laxen, Cindi Van Buskirk, Sonia and Eben Dobson, Wilson Godfrey, Sally Ross, Judy Algara, Valerie & Jack Moreau
Called to Order @ 30
It was decided that the meeting would consist of Henry Laxen's presentation of the future of running the shelter, and different options to consider were:
- Look for a new veterinarian to occupy the shelter. Pay no salary, and in exchange for rent, require a weekly time commitment from him/her.
- Sell the shelter and use the money to buy a bus and set up a mobile spay/neuter/treatment center.
- Change our focus to one of education and political lobbying.
- Go back to paying the local existing vets to provide no/low cost spay/neuter services, and basic preventative treatment.
After much discussion, it was decided that we all needed to take time and review the options, and get together to make a decision at a later date.
