These are the duties of the vet on duty at the shelter, as discussed during the last Board Meeting held on August 22, 2006.
- ANIMAL PICK UP- Emergencies, immediately. Other calls, within 6-8 hours, depending how busy Dr. Juan is.
- EVALUATE ANIMAL- sick or diseased animals to be 'put to sleep' immediately or kept in QUARANTINE ROOM until put to sleep later in the day.
- ANIMAL POLICIES - All animals will be held at the Shelter for 10 days. If not adopted within this period of time, unfortunately the animal will be euthanized.
- Bathe Groom Animal before handing out for adoption.
- SPAY/NEUTER- All animals that are adopted, will be neutered or spayed before leaving the shelter.
- VACCINES- All cats and dogs that are adopted, will be given all their vaccines and de-wormed.
- Give New owner instruction on follow up care with vet
- Once the adopted animal leaves the shelter, it is the owner's responsibility to take their pet to their own vets for further treatment.
