Mailing New Cards
I advised my clients to ask the Visa people to send their card by DHL as we all know it to be the most reliable. They were told point blank we choose the method of shipment end of story. They further added that they would then be responsible if anything would go wrong with that chosen carrier. At any rate, it is wise for us all to take great care with our cards. Ironically enough, when my purse was stolen nearly 2 years ago now - my cards weren't even attempted! He apparently was just after my pathetically small amount of cash - no big time criminal mind there!

Using Cards outside your normal area
Found out the hard way. Years ago when visiting Mazatlan, found out my credit card was cancelled. Fortunately, we had a backup. When I got back to Seattle and called the bank, I was told that my charges didn't match my spending pattern and the bank wanted to protect us in case they were stolen. They had tried to reach us by phone 1st. So now, when we do any travelling, I let my bank know so that I won't be surprised again.
