Actually there are quite a few jobs available for someone whose first language is English and who is willing to work for Mexican wages ($60 - $150 pesos daily). However, you must have your FM3. Don't get it before you come because to work you need to have a letter from your prospective employer or you won't receive the FM3 with the proper permissions.

As long as the employer states in his letter that he needs YOU to work for him because you are a native English speaker you can work at practically any job in Mexico. The important thing is to have the letter when you apply for the FM3 and the other important thing you need to know in advance is that if you change employers you have to take a new letter to Migracion and pay a new fee to change your FM3. The work permit portion of the FM3 is only good for the specific employer named.
